The Translational Bioinformatics Laboratory (TBL) is a research group at the University of Milano-Bicocca, built around a core of PhD students and a strong network of clinical and experimental collaborators.

Principal Investigator
Daniele Ramazzotti – Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine and Surgery, University of Milano-Bicocca.
Daniele Ramazzotti leads the Translational Bioinformatics Laboratory (TBL) at the Department of Medicine and Surgery. His research focuses on computational methods for cancer genomics, evolution and multi-omics integration, with applications in haematological malignancies and solid tumours.

Alberto Maria Villa

Project: computational approaches to cancer genomics and mutational processes in solid tumours,
with a focus on lung cancer.

Research & technical collaborators at the University of Milano-Bicocca
Several researchers at the University of Milano-Bicocca collaborate with TBL on experimental, biological and methodological aspects of ongoing projects. Collaborators working in the biomedical area are based at the Department of Medicine and Surgery in Monza, while those with a computer science background are based at the Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication (DISCo) in Milan.

Interests: targeted therapies and resistance mechanisms in oncology. Collaborator on preclinical
models and drug–response studies connected to TBL projects.

Marco Antoniotti
Full Professor of Computer Science, Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication (DISCo),
University of Milano-Bicocca (Milan campus).
Interests: formal methods, algorithms and computational models for biological systems and cancer
evolution. Senior methodological collaborator on TBL projects involving probabilistic models and
software development.
Alex Graudenzi
Associate Professor of Computer Science, Department of Informatics, Systems and Communication (DISCo),
University of Milano-Bicocca (Milan campus).
Interests: computational oncology, evolutionary modelling and integrative analysis of cancer data.
Associated PI and methodological collaborator on TBL projects focusing on tumour evolution and
mutational signatures.
Clinical collaborators at the San Gerardo Hospital
TBL works in close partnership with clinicians at the Fondazione IRCCS San Gerardo dei Tintori in Monza. These collaborations provide access to high-quality clinical data and samples and are essential to the translational nature of the lab's research.
